We envision a future in which the Boys & Girls Club Movement is a catalyst for an age in which success is within reach of every child, and whole generations of children are inspired to a level of civic engagement not seen since the founding of our nation.

To uphold high ethical standards in all areas, especially in overseeing our finances, reporting data on membership and community outreach, being good stewards of the donor dollar and representing ourselves to the public.

BGCA’s key support functions include:

Developing and testing new programs for youth;

Assisting Clubs with outcome-based program planning and evaluation;

Providing comprehensive child safety resources to protect youth and position Boys & Girls Clubs as catalysts for child protection;

Helping community leaders establish new Clubs and expand existing ones;

Providing training experiences, management consultations and resources for staff development, volunteer recruitment, marketing, fundraising, compensation and benefits administration;

Promoting greater public awareness about the Movement’s mission and impact; and

Addressing legislative and public policy issues affecting young people and the voluntary sector

BGCA Five Core Program Areas

  • Character and Leadership Development

The Character and Leadership Development Core Program Area empowers youth to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others’ cultural identifies

  • Education and Career Development

The Education and Career Development Core Program Area enables youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career

  • Health and Life Skills

The Health and Life Skills Core Program Area develops young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults

  • The Arts

The Arts Core Program Area enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and an appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing

  • Sports, Fitness and Recreation

The Sports, Fitness and Recreation Core Program Area develops fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills
