Dear
Little Wound School Parents and/or Guardians:
On March
8, 2021, the Little Wound School Board approved our fourth quarter operational
plan that will be in effect from April 6 through May 20. This plan outlines the way our school will
offer classes, services, and activities to students for the duration of the
academic year.
Here are
some important details about the operations Little Wound School has for the 4th quarter.
Academic
classes will continue online for the remainder of this school year. The last day of
class currently is scheduled for May 20.
The
online school day will now be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Our principals are working with teachers to finalize class schedules and communicate updates with parents and families. If you have any questions about your student’s classes, please email or call your principal.
Limited
on-campus activities will be available from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Following all COVID-19 health and safety protocols, we plan to offer small pods of students in grades K-12 on-campus programming, focused on wellness, tutoring, counseling, special education services, and related student activities. Individual schools have identified pods of students willing to come to campus for enrichment programming. The parent or guardian of any student engaged in on-campus activities must sign a waiver acknowledging the potential risk of COVID-19 exposure. It is the parent/guardian’s decision whether their student will participate in this programming. Little Wound is committed to ensuring that the risk for exposure is low. For example, there will be temperature checks to get on a bus or enter the building, facemasks will be required, classroom occupancy will be limited, and student pods will be limited to less than ten students.
Lunch
deliveries will continue for all students from Monday through Thursday.
It is our hope to offer summer school in June and expand in-person learning for the upcoming school year and returning to a more traditional educational model. For additional information, please review the attached documents, including the school board-approved operational plan, student waiver document, and school contact lists. At any time, if you have any questions, please contact your student’s principal.
Sincerely,
Charles
Cuny, Jr.
Little Wound School Superintendent
