OFFICIAL TIME FRAME FOR THREE (3) POSITIONS TO SERVE FOUR (4) YEAR TERMS LITTLE WOUND SCHOOL SERVICE AREA POLLING SITES OPEN FROM 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM MEDICINE ROOT DISTRICT (Kyle), PASS CREEK DISTRICT (Allen), WAKPAMNI DISTRICT (Batesland), PORCUPINE DISTRICT ( Porcupine and Sharps Corner), WOUNDED KNEE DISTRICT (Manderson and Wounded Knee), EAGLE NEST DISTRICT (Wanblee), LACREEK DISTRICT (Martin)
Petitioners must pick up and return their own petition at the LWS Business Office. Petitioners are required to pay for their own background checks. A $50.00 money order, for federal and state background check must be taken to Little Wound School Business Office (LWS Human Resources will process). A $20.00 money order must be taken to OST Pine Ridge Court House for Tribal background check. The School also requires a drug test to be done by each Petitioner, a $35.00 money order will need to be taken to the LWS Business Office and drug test completed onsite by one of the school nurses. Due to the high volume of elections being conducted reservation-wide, please complete your requirements immediately. |

(MST) OCTOBER 16, 2026 LWS election committee answers challenge to candidates list. Lots drawn for position on the ballot. OCTOBER 23, 2026 Post Sample Ballots in the LWS election service areas. Absentee voting begins. NOVEMBER 2, 2026 Deadline to cast absentee ballots at LWS Business Office no later than 4:30 PM (MST). Mandatory mini workshop for Judges and Tellers at LWS Auditorium. NOVEMBER 3, 2026 ELECTION DAY NOVEMBER 4, 2026 Unofficial results announced and posted in election service areas. NOVEMBER 18, 2026 Official results announced and posted in election service area. NOVEMBER 25, 2026 Deadline to file notarized challenge to the election results, no later than 4:30 PM. (MST) DECEMBER 2, 2026 LWS election committee answers notarized challenge to the election results. DECEMBER 7, 2026 Final Report to Little Wound School Board. Newly Elected Board Members are seated.
